Networking on the Green - a Young Professional Event
The Principal Charity Classic is excited to offer a new networking program - the inaugural Networking on the Green. The event will be held Friday, May 29th and Saturday, May 30th at Glen Oaks Country Club. Networking on the Green will feature key note speaker J. Barry Griswell, president of the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines, former CEO of Principal Financial Group and author of Adversity Paradox. The event will also offer an opportunity to network with 10 of central Iowa's top CEO's, networking exercises and of course The Principal Charity Classic golf action. |

LIVE Concert featuring 80/35 bands - Friday, May 29The Principal Charity Classic has partnered with 80/35 for a LIVE concert event featuring 80/35 bands following play on Friday. The Dig Angees, Cleo's Apartment and The Josh Davis Band will all perform LIVE behind the 18th green. You can also see these bands perform at the 80/35 Music Festival July 3rd and 4th. |

The Principal Charity Classic Disc Golf Open sponsored by Junior Achievement of Central IowaThe Principal Charity Classic is hosting the 1st ever Disc Golf Open on Tuesday, May 26. The event is geared toward young professional groups and interns in the Des Moines area. |

The Principal Charity Classic Putt-Putt ChallengeWIN A TRIP to The 2010 MastersTest your skills on The Principal Charity Classic Putt-Putt Challenge.The Putt-Putt Challenge will be at various community events throughout the year. Participants who make a hole-in-one will be entered into a drawing to compete on the 18th green Sunday, May 31, 2009. A list of winners will be continually updated here and one winner will be drawn mid-May. |

The 18th Green Giveaway will have 2 participants: 1 drawn from the crowd, 1 drawn from hole-in-one winners. A long putt will be staged and participants will each take one putt. Closest to the pin or in will win a trip to the Masters for two. Trip includes roundtrip airfare for two, a two night hotel stay, and two tickets to the final day of play, Sunday, April 11, 2010.
Iowa Golf Association - Rules Quiz Promotion
The Iowa Golf Association has awarded one high school golfer a spot in the 2009 Principal Charity Classic Pro-Am based on a rules quiz given at the IGA Rules of Golf Seminars this spring.
CONGRATULATIONS T SANDERS OF AMES! T Sanders placed the highest score on his quiz over all three seminars.
The IGA is hosted three seminars focusing on the most commonly abused Rules of Golf. Although the seminars are geared toward high school coaches and their golf teams, anyone was invited to attend. The seminars were presented free of charge.
At the end of each seminar all high school golfers wishing to participate were given a rules quiz. The junior golfer who scored the highest on the rules quiz earned a spot in the 2009 Principal Charity Classic Pro-Am on Wednesday, May 27th.
SKYWALK GOLF - Results
Skywalk Golf presented by The Principal Charity Classic was held Feb. 7, 2009 in the downtown Des Moines. The wintertime tradition is a unique miniature golf tournament that is laid out throughout the downtown skywalk system. More 1,800 golfers participated in the 4-course set up with 72 hole sponsors.
