Actor Ron Livingston to play in the CIBER Pro-Am at The Principal Charity Classic®
(WEST DES MOINES, Iowa) – Ron Livingston will appear as a celebrity guest during the CIBER Pro-Am at The Principal Charity Classic® presented by Wells Fargo on May 29 at Glen Oaks Country Club. Raised in Marion, IA, Livingston graduated from Marion High School and performed at the Cedar Rapids Community Theater before attending Yale University, where he earned his BA in Theater Studies and English Literature.
“Ron will be a great addition to the event this year,” said The Principal Charity Classic Tournament Director Jeff Starr. “We’re excited to welcome him back to Iowa to be a part of our Pro-Am.”
Ron Livingston may be best known as the star of the cult hit “Office Space.” Directed by Mike Judge and starring opposite Jennifer Aniston, the film has gone on to become one of the industry’s best-selling film/DVD rentals of all time. In the film, he played a disgruntled young office worker caught up in the corporate rat race.
As Captain Lewis Nixon in HBO’s “Band of Brothers,” Livingston was nominated for a Golden Globe in the Best Supporting Actor category in 2001. The critically acclaimed series won the Emmy and Golden Globe for best mini-series that year. Livingston also appeared on the Emmy-winning drama “The Practice” and took a memorable turn as Jack Berger on the ever popular HBO series “Sex and the City” opposite Sarah Jessica Parker.
In 2003, Livingston co-starred in “The Cooler” the critically acclaimed film from Lions Gate starring William H. Macy, Maria Bello, and Alec Baldwin. He has also appeared in: “Adaptation” with Nicolas Cage, Meryl Streep, and Chris Cooper; “Swingers,” with Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn; “Pretty Persuasion” with Evan Rachel Wood and James Woods; the Paramount Classics film “Winter Solstice” with Anthony LaPaglia and Allison Janney; “Ink,” “Two Ninas,” “Relative Strangers,” and “Little Black Book.” He also recently starred in the Fox series “Standoff” and the TNT limited series “Nightmares and Dreamscapes,” based on the Steven King anthology.
Livingston most recently wrapped production on the New Line film “Time Traveler’s Wife” with Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams. 2007 proved to be a busy year for Livingston appearing Off Broadway in the Neil Labute play In a Dark, Dark House, “Music Within” with Michael Sheen and Melissa George and in “Holly,” a film shot on location in Cambodia.

The Principal Charity Classic, presented by Wells Fargo, is an annual Champions Tour event at Glen Oaks Country Club in West Des Moines. The 2008 tournament will be held May 28-June 1.
