Program Overview
Birdies for Charity is a fundraising program designed to give participants an opportunity to generate contributions based on the number of "birdies" made by Champions Tour players during The Principal Charity Classic®. With 879 birdies made in last year's tournament, Birdies for Charity raised nearly $173,000 for local organizations serving youth populations.
"Bonus Bucks" are back this year along with our matching program and monthly give-a-ways. This year, our goal is to generate $200,000 through Birdies for Charity. Bonus Bucks are sponsored by Sammons Financial Group.

How does it work?
Every birdie made during the Principal Charity Classic means bucks for charity! Make a pledge and 100% of your donation will go directly to the charity of your choice.
There are two ways to pledge:
A per-birdie amount for every birdie made by the Champions Tour players during the three-day Principal Charity Classic, or
A one-time flat donation
Minimum per-birdie $.02
Minimum flat donation $ 10
Birdies made in 2008 721
Birdies made in 2009 787
Birdies made in 2010 795
Birdies made in 2011 879
For example, a pledge of $.02 per birdie: $.02 x 795 birdies in 2010 =$15.90
The number of birdies can fluctuate due to unforeseeable conditions.
What is a "birdie"?
A "birdie" is a score of one stroke better than "par" for any golf hole on the course. "Par" is the normal expected score of a golf professional on any given hole. For example, on a par 4 hole, a score of 3 is a birdie.
