The partnership’s Shoot for Zero initiative employs several tactics, including solar powered golf carts, skybox televisions and more, to reduce the tournament’s environmental impact. JUNIOR GOLFERS!! Participate in a Drive, Chip & Putt event at The Principal Charity Classic. This challenge is 3-tiered-testing the juniors driving, chipping and putting skills. Junior golfers 17 years old and younger can participate with the chance to compete with a Champions Tour Pro and advance to one of four regional qualifying sites.

The Drive, Chip & Putt event is FREE. Juniors will need to pre-register for the event.

Drive, Chip & Putt will be held Saturday, June 2. Stay tuned for details.

The Principal Charity Classic will be the title sponsor of the 2012 Iowa Junior Tour. This is a great partnership with the Iowa PGA.This year will be the 14th year the Iowa PGA Junior Tour has continually offered quality tournament opportunities for junior golfers in Iowa and western Illinois. Membership has grown to include over 750 juniors and will consist of over 60 events in 2011 that are held across the section from June through mid-August.

The Iowa Junior Tour continues to grow and enjoy great success thanks in part to Iowa PGA Section Professionals who time and time again enthusiastically support junior golf.
