Tournament history

The tournament began in 2001 with Principal taking over as the title sponsor in 2007. Since 2007, the event has raised over $37 million for Iowa children’s charities--a number we aim to grow year after year. As one of the marquee events in Des Moines, Principal Charity Classic has won many awards over the years. The tournament was named the PGA TOUR Champions 2016 Tournament of the Year and has broken it’s own charitable gifting records year after year. You don’t want to miss out on another historic year at the Principal Charity Classic.

Don’t miss out. We’ll see you at Wakonda Club.
