Des Moines, Iowa (June 2) – The Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Principal Charity Classic, and Variety – The Children’s Charity donated an adaptive bicycle to Conor O’Leary Aerts this afternoon. PGA TOUR Champions professional Esteban Toledo presented the bike to Conor at Atlantic Bottling’s offices.

Conor is a 5-year old boy with a diagnosis of Batten disease, a rapidly progressive, incurable neurodegenerative disease. As time progresses, Conor will lose his ability to walk. He currently undergoes intense physical therapy to slow the progression down. The specialized bike will help Conor remain mobile and maintain range of motion of his hip, knee and ankle joints. He cannot generate the muscle strength or balance to independently ride a traditional bike. The use of the specialized bike with the rear steering bar will allow Conor to continue working on his strength and ride a bike like all 5-year old boys.

“Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling, the Principal Charity Classic, and Variety – The Children’s Charity are proud to present Conor and his family with this custom bicycle,” said tournament director Doug Habgood. “This bike is specially-fitted for Conor’s needs and we hope it brings him joy. Making a difference in children’s lives through specialized bicycle donations is always one of the most satisfying parts of tournament week for the Principal Charity Classic.”

The 2021 Principal Charity Classic will take place from June 4-6 with one of the strongest fields ever visiting the historic Wakonda Club. For more information, please visit or connect with the tournament on social media at, Twitter @PCCTourney, and Instagram @principalcharityclassic.
